Worst truck crash in Ontario history leaves 11 dead

New York 2/07/2012 06:46 PM GMT (TransWorldNews)

An accident involving a flatbed truck and a passenger van
that left 11 dead is the worst in Ontario history.

The accident occurred Monday around 4:45 pm. A van carrying
mostly migrant farm workers from Peru was leaving for the day. The van went
through a stop
sign and was t-boned by a flatbed truck. The impact of
the crash pushed the passenger van across a lawn into the side of a building. One
entire side of the van was sheared off. Many of the passengers were wearing
safety belts.

A spokesman for the county medical services said that nine
passenger and the two drivers were killed on impact. On passenger was seriously
injured and was air-lifted to a local hospital; two other passengers were
critically injured, according to MSNBC.

The names of the victims have not been released pending the
notification of family.

Police told the CEO of the trucking company Speedy Transport
that it appeared the van ran a stop sign, according to The Globe and Mail.

This accident was a tragedy. Truck accident attorneys know how devastating these kinds of
accidents can be and will work diligently to find out who was negligent.

The victims of these accidents may decide they want to seek
compensation with the assistance of a truck accident lawyer. A favorable settlement obtained by a truck accident attorney cannot replace good health or a life, but it can help the victims with the costs they incur.
