Since American Idol judges used their only save last week to keep Jessica Sanchez in the competition, the results were final for the unlucky contestant to receive the lowest amount of votes this week.

It came as no surprise that Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone took the first spots in the bottom 3. Both girls have made several appearances in the bottom 3 since the live shows began. What was surprising was Colton Dixon took the final spot alongside Cavanagh and Testone. It was his first and last time in the bottom 3. Dixon received the lowest amount of votes and was booted from the competition.

Dixon, 20, took the news gracefully and thanked Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler for their feedback on his performances Wednesday night. "I need to apologize. I wasn't myself last night and I get it. And I appreciate what you told me last night. I'll take that when I'm making a record. And I'll choose songs [that are right for me],” he said.

In addition to Testone and Cavanagh, the top 6 includes Jessica Sanchez, Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet and Skylar Laine.
