50 Cent sustained minor neck and back injuries late Monday night in a car accident in New York City. A rep for the 36-year-old rapper says he was briefly hospitalized at New York Hospital Queens for treatment.

"He was taken to New York Hospital Queens where he was treated for minor neck and back injuries. He was released this morning and is doing fine," his rep said.

The accident happened on the Long Island Expressway. 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, and his driver were nearing the Van Wyck exit in their SUV when a Mack truck rear ended them. Jackson was removed from the scene on a stretcher and taken by ambulance to the hospital. His driver also received treatment for minor injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
