The impending divorce of John Cena was shaping up to be a lengthy and ugly divorce as allegations of infidelity surfaced, but too much surprise, the wrestling star was able to end his marriage amicably, and stopping what had the potential of becoming a PR nightmare.
According to Elizabeth Huberdeau’s divorce attorney, Raymond Rafool, Cena and his client worked together to get over their past differences. In a statement Rafool said, “All matters (in the divorce) have been settled and resolved amicably.”
Huberdeau was hit blindsided by divorce papers in May just three years after they tied the knot. The allegations began to fly and she moved to challenge the prenuptial the couple signed. Huberdeau accused Cena of sleeping with other women and “treating her poorly in the split.” A peer in the wrestling world backed up Huberdeau’s cheating allegations.
The details of their final settlement were not made public but according to TMZ the couple agreed to “bury the hatchet.”
Couples that have wealth and numerous assets often have the good sense to contact a divorce lawyer to draw up a prenuptial agreement. Although these agreements may not seem romantic, they do assure that should the marriage fail, both parties’ interests are protected.
Untangle finances and deciding on custody and support issues can be very difficult for a couple as they must also wrangle with the emotional aspects of divorce. Divorce attorneys help these couple look objectively at the issues and come up with a final settlement they can both agree on.
