There’s about to be another star in the Jolie-Pitt family! Walt Disney Studios announced Wednesday Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s 4-year-old daughter Vivienne has been cast as the child Princess Aurora in the upcoming Sleeping Beauty spinoff Maleficent. Vivienne’s part is said to be small and it is unknown if she will appear in a scene with her mother, who is set to play the evil queen Maleficent. Elle Fanning will star as the adult version of Princess Aurora.
Filming on Maleficent began in June. The story will be told from the queen’s perspective. Jolie, 37, previously spoke about her role to Entertainment Weekly. "It's not anti-princess. But it's the first time they're looking at this epic woman ... I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn't mean she can't have other [warmer] qualities,” she said.
Maleficent will also star Sharlto Copley, Juno Temple, Sam Riley, Miranda Richardson and Imelda Staunton. The film is set to hit theaters on March 14, 2014.
