Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof was hit with divorce papers Tuesday, following a month long separation from husband Paul Nassif, TMZ reported.
Nassif filed the official divorce petition Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences. The filing came just one day after his father’s passing. Nassif broke the news over Twitter saying, “Adrienne and I tried very hard to make our marriage work. A difficult time,” adding “Sadly, I lost my dad yesterday, a man who taught me how to be a man.”
After news of their split broke, Maloof seemed optimistic about the chances of reconciliation, “We’re at the point where it’s a bump in the road, (but) we are trying to work things out,”Maloof told People.
In the divorce papers, Nassif asked for joint custody of their three children, Gavin and twins, Colin and Christian. They already have a solid prenuptial, so unless there are any contentions, child custody will be the leading issue for Nassif’s divorce lawyer, Lisa Helfend Meyer.
The couple is known for their unceasing bickering on the show. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and other franchises of the popular reality show have bad track record when it comes to divorce. On the RHOBH, alone three stars have gotten a divorce since the show’s start in 2010. The divorce list includes Season 1’s Camille Grammar, ex-wife of Kelsey Grammar, Season 2’s Taylor Armstrong and now Adrienne Maloof.
