August
22, 2012 was a very special day for many who are conscious of their
health. It is quite a rare thing for people to receive dental
examinations and oral cancer screenings free of cost, but this is
what they all got on this day between 2:30 and 5:30 PM. On this day,
the community was delighted to have these screenings provided
completely free of cost. Countless people benefited from these
services that will now help them enjoy better dental and oral health.
These screenings were conducted at the St. James Dental Group in
Cudahy, CA and those who highly anticipated the event were not let
down when the day finally arrived.
Dr.
Shafai, Pediatrician and Healthy Families Program, had teamed up with
Dr. Ladan Zinati and staff who were hosting this free event, and
local residents were supported with free oral cancer screenings and
dental examinations. This was a great boon for the community and was
further boosted by the free visual and hearing exams and free blood
pressure exams that were provided by Dr. Shafai. It was expected that
this event would be a success but it went even beyond success. Like
never before, the community was thrilled with a sense of excitement
that they could now get free oral checks and this was something that
they eagerly anticipated and their eagerness was not in vain.
Dr.Ladan Zinati believes in supporting just causes and helping the
community in all possible ways. To quote her, “There will be
giveaways for children, Norberto the clown for entertainment and
raffles. It will be a fun event for all the community as well as
getting the dental and medical examinations that you and your
children need for free."
She
believes in giving back to the community, and she feels that free
dental examinations were a great way in which to give one’s best
back to the community that offered her so much. In view of this, it
is no wonder that this camp was a tremendous success!

Dr. Ladan Zinati
Dr.
Ladan Zinati is a graduate of the California State University
Northridge. She majored in Biology in 1989 and then moved on to the
University of Southern California (USC) to continue her education in
dentistry. She completed her education here in 1993 with several
honors in the Doctorate of Dental Surgery and has been active for
over 19 years in providing high quality dental care for the residents
of Cudahy and neighboring localities.
Dr.
