Amanda Chenoweth along with her husband James leave Friday on a cross country bicycle adventure in support of the Wounded Warrior project and the memory of her fallen brother, Army Corporal Joe VanDreumel.
She will be riding a tricycle.
Amanda will be riding a custom equipped recumbent trike donated by Michigan manufacturer TerraTrike. Not only will the trike make the journey more comfortable, it will be given away at the end of the tour to a worthy soldier.
“We support the Wounded Warrior project whole heartedly.” Says terraTrike Marketing Director Jeff Yonker. “A big part of our business is helping disabled and special needs people get their freedom back. When Amanda asked us to help it was a no brainer.”
“Joe was a man of true honor, integrity and dedication. He deeply loved his family, his country and his many friends.” says Amanda. “I can’t think of a better way to honor his life and am deeply grateful to our sponsors who are helping make this journey happen.”
Joe’s Legacy Tour as it’s being billed, will begin in San Diego at VFW post #5985 and make it’s way across the United States concluding in St. Augustine Florida in late December. The couple will be stopping at VFW’s and American Legions to talk to the press, solicit donations and build awareness for the soldiers who fight every day for our freedom. A video documenting their journey will also be filmed along the way.
