A man attempted to attack Rupert Murdoch with a plate of shaving cream Tuesday during a hearing with a House of Select Committee of British Parliament, but was stopped by the media mogul’s wife Wendi Deng. Deng jumped up and slapped the unidentified man before any shaving cream could hit Murdoch, who was being questioned about the phone hacking scandal involving News of the World. Witnesses say Murdoch’s son, James Murdoch, also jumped to the 80-year-old’s defense.

CNN reports the attacker called Murdoch “a greedy billionaire." Police handcuffed the man and removed him from the room.

The committee apologized to Murdoch after the incident and praised Deng’s “very good left hook.”
