Katy Perry has cancelled her appearance on the People’s
Choice Awards just one week after she told fans she would be appearing, but did
not state the reason for cancelling.

Russell Brand filed for divorce on December 30^th
after rumors that couple was estranged flooded the internet. And when
high-profile celebrities split everyone wants to know why.

Though Brand did not state the exact reasons he sought out a
divorce attorney aside from irreconcilable
differences. Many have speculated that it may be due to Katy’s evangelical
Christian parents. Other sources have said it has to do with Katy’s partying
ways. Russell is clean and sober.

Perry was upset about all the rumors and vented her
dissatisfaction on Twitter, “Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO
ONE speaks from me. Not a blog, magazine, “close sources” or my family.” She
did break her silence but did not state the reason for the split.

Perry’s evangelical parents have stated that the divorce was
a gift from God and was pleased that their daughter’s divorce filled the pews
in church the weekend the news broke.

Brand and Perry have been married a little over a year, but
