A
school bus carrying 27 students went out of control Thursday afternoon running
over lawns on Missouri Avenue,
finally coming to rest when it hit a tree.

Police
say that the bus driver, Debra Stephenson, 58, was turning left onto Missouri Avenue
from Lyons Street
when she lost control of the bus. The bus drove off of Missouri rolling uphill onto a lawn; it then
rolled backwards a few hundred feet crossing several yards and finally slamming
into a small tree. The impact of the crash uprooted a pine tree.

Some
of the students suffered minor injuries with the worst being some cuts because
of broken glass. The bus driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police
thoroughly inspected the vehicle to see if the brakes or other mechanics
failed. They determined that the bus did not experience any mechanical failure.
They later determined that Stephenson suffered a medical event which caused her
to become impaired, but did not state what the event was.

An
accident can happen at any time and sometimes no one is at fault, but as a Minnesota
accident
 attorney knows, many accidents are
caused by negligence on the part of another driver. And a Minnesota accident attorney will apply their
skills and expertise to make certain the careless driver is held responsible.

Minnesota accident attorney Eric Valen
will fight to obtain the maximum compensation you deserve for you injuries.
