Prince Fielder and Milwaukee Brewers teammate Manny Parra were involved in a dugout altercation on Monday night.
During a game against the Cincinnati Reds, Parra, the game's starting pitcher, left for a pinch-hitter during the seventh inning.
Fielder went up to Parra in the dugout and the two exchanged words. Fielder then shoved Parra twice before being restrained by several teammates.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Fielder was upset because Parra apparently was headed back to the clubhouse during the Brewers' half of the seventh. Fielder told Parra he should stay in the dugout and watch Milwaukee bat.
Fielder, the son of Hall of Famer Cecil Fielder, declined through a club spokesman to talk to the media. Parra didn't talk about the altercation either.
"Stuff happens like that all the time," Parra said. "We're not too concerned about it."
The Reds won 6-3 as Milwaukee's Ryan Braun hit his 30th home run, becoming just the second player in MLB history to hit 30-plus homers in each of his first two seasons.
