Boeing to Demonstrate Virtual Shield at NATO BELCOAST 09 Technology Conference

The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) is scheduled to present this week at the NATO-sponsored BELCOAST 09 Technology Conference. The company will demonstrate a networked security system for military force protection this week. The conference is being held at the Koksijde Air Base, Belgium.

Boeing's Visual Security Operations Console (VSOC) Virtual Shield uses sensors, mobile hardware and command and control software to give commanders a centralized tool for establishing situational awareness around military bases. The system collects data in real time and displays the data on computer consoles which can be quickly reconfigured to adapt to new surroundings. The VSOC builds on Boeing's VSOC Sentinel software to provide configuration options that easily integrate.
