Shirt 4 Shirt Program Donates to the Homeless

TM Design Corp is proud to announce the "Shirt 4 Shirt" program: A shirt will be donated for every shirt that sells in the Art to Shirt web store throughout the remainder of 2009. These shirts will go directly to people in need through the amazing organization which is the Open Door Mission in Rochester, NY.
The program was initiated now because the need is greatest in the cold months. Homeless shelters experience a large increase in need over the winter months. Todd Walbridge (project administrator) said "We are very excited about our affiliation with the Open Door Mission and of being able to give back to our community. We hope that programs like Shirt 4 Shirt will be replicated where ever there is a need". In addition to shirt donations cash donations will be made with every sale on select items.
A Recent study estimated the number of homeless to be 3.5 million of which 1.35 million are children. Also, due to the recent foreclosures crisis, homelessness has been on the rise, so those numbers are growing daily. Over 6 million jobs have been lost since the beginning of the recession and there are many families that are only one paycheck from being homeless as well. Organizations such as the Open Door Mission are needed more than ever, due to municipal budgets cuts,leaving the homeless with no where to turn.
Established in 1952, "your" Open Door Mission is a privately funded 501c-3 non-profit organization chartered in the state of New York and does not receive any government funding, but relies entirely upon the private donations from the community to run its programs.
