Stissing Mountain High School Principal Held Hostage by Gunman

The principal of Stissing Mountain High School in Pine Plains, New York was held hostage Tuesday by a gunman. The gunman, believed to be a parent of one of the school’s students, entered the building around the time the school opened at 7:45 a.m.

Authorities, including SWAT teams and police officers, contained the gunman in a room at the school and negotiated with him. The principal was released and the gunman was taken in to custody. No one was hurt. The names of the principal and gunman were not released.
