Honeywell (NYSE: HON) has been awarded a grant from the Department of Energy (DOLE) as part of the largest ever single energy grid modernization investment in U.S. history. The grant awarded is valued at $11.4 million. The grant was awarded from a smart grid funding package under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). This solidifies Honeywell's position as a key player in the move to transfer the United States to a more efficient electric system.
