Chico's FAS, Inc. (NYSE:CHS) soars 12.17% to $15.12 after the company today announced its financial results for the fiscal 2009 third quarter and nine months ended October 31, 2009. For the nine months ended October 31, 2009, the Company had net income of $52.1 million or $0.29 per diluted share, compared to net income of $21.4 million, or $0.12 per diluted share in the first nine months of the prior year. Excluding the impairment charges recorded prior to the fiscal third quarter of 2009, the Company had net income of $60.3 million, or $0.34 per diluted share compared to net income of $21.4 million, or $0.12 per diluted share for the first nine months of 2008.
Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd (NYSE:EXM) climbs up over 5.44% to $7.75. The stock hit an intraday high and an intraday low of $7.90 and $7.45 respectively. In the last six months the stock went down over 19%. Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd. is a provider of worldwide sea borne transportation services for dry bulk cargo, including among others, iron ore, coal and grain, collectively referred to as major bulks, and steel products, fertilizers, cement, bauxite, sugar and scrap metal, collectively referred to as minor bulks.
Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. (NASDAQ:EGLE) climbs up over 4.96% to $6.39. The stock hit an intraday high and an intraday low of $6.50 and $6.18 respectively. In the last six months the stock went down over 5%. Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. is primarily engaged in the ocean transportation of a range of major and minor bulk cargoes, including iron ore, coal, grain, cement and fertilizer, along worldwide shipping routes.
