A-Power Energy Enter Cooperation Agreement with U.S. Renewable Energy Group for Construction of U.S. Wind Turbine Plant

A-Power Energy Generation Systems (NASDAQ: APWR) has signed a cooperation agreement with U.S. Renewable Energy Group for the construction of a plant in the U.S. The plant will supply wind energy turbines to renewable energy projects in both North and South America.

The joint announcement came just three weeks after A-Power announced their plans to build a $1.5 billion wind farm project in West Texas in part with several U.S. companies. The announcement said the plant is expected to be able to produce 1,100 MW of wind energy turbines annually. The plant will also employ an estimated 1,000 workers and create additional jobs during construction. The plant will also source some of the wind turbine components from U.S. manufacturers.
