Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMLN) soars 5.93% to $13.21 after Barclays is upgrading Amylin Pharmaceuticals to Overweight from Equal-Weight with a $22 price target. Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery, development and commercialization of drug candidates for the treatment of diabetes, obesity and other diseases.
DSW Inc. (NYSE:DSW) climbs up 4.24% to $21.41 after Footwear retailer DSW Inc. reported Tuesday a two-fold increase in third-quarter profit that well surpassed Street view, helped by sharp growth in sales. The company also raised its outlook for the full year, expecting earnings to come in above analysts' estimate. For the third quarter, net income doubled to $26.63 million or $0.60 per share from $13.18 million or $0.30 per share in the previous year. On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.46 per share.
Iowa Telecommunications Services, Inc. (NYSE:IWA) soars 25.10% to $15.88 after the company announced that its Board of Directors has approved an agreement for Windstream Corp. to acquire the Newton, Iowa-based telecommunications company in a transaction valued at approximately $1.1 billion. Iowa Telecom shareholders will receive 0.804 shares of Windstream stock and $7.90 in cash per each Iowa Telecom share under terms of the agreement approved by the boards of directors of both companies.
