Chaske Spencer reportedly checked in to rehab before filming on the Twilight sequel New Moon began. The National Enquirer reports Spencer, who plays Sam Uley in the series, checked in to the Northwest Indian Treatment Center to help kick a drug addiction.

“Chaske confided to me that he was up for a role in a ‘really big movie’ and didn’t want to screen it up,” said fellow patient Ray Martin. “He said, ‘If anyone find out I’m here, it would be the worst thing in the world. It could ruin my career!’”

“From the way Chaske spoke in the group, I figured his drug of choice was either cocaine or methamphetamine,” Martin added.

Spencer has not commented.
