Acai Berry Top Food & Drink Search Term of 2009 Reports Google

Acai Berry was the fastest rising search term in the Food and Drink Category for 2009 according to a new report by Google.

New York, NY 12/04/2009 02:41 PM GMT (TransWorldNews)

For the tiny Acai Berry, 2009 was a big year.   The Acai Berry was the feature of countless news stories and unfortunately the subject of endless spam emails that flooded consumers inboxes.   Now Google has confirmed what many in the industry already predicted – Acai Berry was the fastest rising search term on Google in the Food and Drink category.

Each year Google produces a year end report called Google Zeitgeist.    To produce the report Google analyzes billions of search queries that are typed in at Google throughout the year.  Google then organizes the search terms by categories.  In the Food and Drink Category, the term Acai Berry was the fastest rising search term of the year.

The Acai berry has gained international recognition as one of the highest antioxidant fruits in the world.  Dr. Perricone named the Acai berry as the #1 Superfood on the Oprah Winfrey show.  Acai has been featured on the Today Show,  CBS Early Show, Wall Street Jounal and the New York Times.  The Acai berry grows in the Acai Palm trees of the Amazon Rainforest and is very high in antioxidants, healthy Omega fats, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients.  While other foods and fruits may be high in certain key nutrients, what makes Acai the top superfood is its complete nutritional profile.

One of the reasons for the very high search volume in Google for Acai is that people were confused by all the conflicting marketing and health claims being made about the acai berry.  To help try to make sense of the various claims made by Acai manufacturers, consumers turned to Google to try to find the truth about the Acai Berry and its health benefits.

A search in Google for Acai suggests these other possible terms of interest:

“When you start looking at the Acai related searches done in Google for 2009, you start to see the picture of a very confused consumer.  People are trying to figure out what Oprah really said about Acai, does Acai help you lose weight, how to avoid acai scams, etc.” states Bob Peters, Director of Communications for PowerSupplements.com .  “2009 was a very turbulent year for the Acai industry.  The good news is we did start to see some more honest and effective acai supplements come to market and many of the acai scammers have been put out of business by numerous lawsuits.”

In 2009, Perfect Supplements launched the Perfect Acai Powder.  The Perfect Acai Powder is one of the only 100% USDA Certified Organic Freeze Dried Acai powders, with absolutely no other ingredients, on the market.  The Perfect Acai Powder finally provides a way for people to receive the nutrition and health benefits of the Acai berry, without any tricks, deception or gimmicks.

“The Perfect Acai Powder is a prime example of less is more.  By only including Organic Freeze Dried Acai in the product, and absolutely nothing else – the Perfect Acai Powder gives consumers exactly what they want – more Acai for their money” states Peters.  “Sometimes companies make things more complicated then they need to be.  Mother Nature has done an incredible job in making the Acai Berry, the Perfect Acai Powder does a great job of not altering what Mother Nature has done.”
