For the second week in a row a model has fallen on the hit ABC show “Dancing with the Stars” as Albert Reed was sent packing after Tom Bergeron announced that the former Abercrombie & Fitch cover boy had the lowest combined score between judges and viewer voting.
Reed and partner Anna Trebunskaya were standing alongside Wayne Newton and Cheryl Burke when the decision was revealed.
The show started on a bit of a somber note as it was revealed that Jayne Seymour would not be on the show this evening due to the death of her mother. Seymour was in England to be with her family but did say she would remain in the competition.
Bergeron did say that Seymour had been safe from elimination after her combined scores were high enough to keep her out of the bottom two. The first to enjoy the security of knowing they would dance another night were Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough who also performed an encore of their Mambo.
Melanie Brown and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were the next pair to enjoy immunity while Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas followed. The quirky Mark Cuban and partner Kym Johnson heard their names as safe as did Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts. Boxing great Floyd Mayweather fought his way out of elimination with partner Karina Smirnof as did Jennie Garth and Derek Hough.
With just three couples remaining Bergeron called out the names of Cameron Mathison and Edyta Sliwinska leaving just Reed and Newton as the lone celebrities on the chopping block. In all likelihood it was the star power of Newton that kept him around while Reed just didn’t have enough to impress the audience.
