Tom Brady Fined by NFL for Violating Uniform Policy
Atlanta, Ga. 10/17/2007 06:30 PM GMT (FINDITT)
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been fined an undisclosed amount of money by the NFL for violating the league’s uniform policy. The violation involved an incident in which Brady failed to properly secure his chin strap in a game.
For Brady, it has been about the only thing that has gone wrong for him all year. The 31-year-old star has tossed 21 touchdowns and just two interceptions while leading the New England Patriots to a 6-0 start to the season, including a career-high five touchdown performance against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Brady is currently carrying a 128.9 quarterback rating, tops in the league, and his 21 TDs is six more than his closest competition, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
The NFL’s policy on unbuckled chin straps has already come up for the Patriots this year. Defensive lineman Ty Warren was fined $7,500 for violating the policy in a Sept. 23 game against the Buffalo Bills.
