Monday Night Football: Pittsburgh Steelers Host Baltimore Ravens in Battle of Defense
Atlanta, GA 11/05/2007 06:38 PM GMT (FINDITT)
The Baltimore Ravens travel north to take on heated AFC Central rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football.
This game is expected to a defensive battle with these perennial stalwarts on the field. The teams boast many of the NFL’s defensive stars. The Ravens have linebacker Ray Lewis, safety Ed Reed and defensive end Trevor Pryce. The Steelers have safety Troy Polamalu and linebacker James Farrior.
The Steelers lead the league in total defense, while the Ravens are second. Pittsburgh is fourth in both passing and rushing defense.
Steelers running back Willie Parker is second in the league in rushing yard with 736. He and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger look to keep the Ravens defense honest.
Ravens quarterback Steve McNair has to step up against this great Steelers defense. Their offense is struggling this year, ranked 24th in the NFL in total offense. This is not the game for them to continue their woes.
The Ravens will be without cornerbacks Chris McAllister and Samari Rolle, so McNair may have some room to pass.
