Curious George recall issued by Marvel Entertainment
Atlanta, GA 11/09/2007 06:17 PM GMT (FINDITT)
Marvel Entertainment Inc has issued a voluntary recall on almost 200,000 Curious George dolls. The toy company says the plush dolls contained too much lead in their surface paint.
The Curious George dolls were sold form 2005 to 2007 in stores nationwide. The dolls were sold in five different models all with a plastic face. They came with an activity book.
Marvel Toys is offering a full refund for all recalled toys. The Curious George recall is the most recent in a string of recall of Chinese made toys. Also recently recalled was Aqua Dots, sometimes called Aqua beads.
Aquadots were recalled after tests showed if the beads were swallowed a chemical reaction was caused and converted into a date rape drug. The drug caused coma, unconsciousness, and sometimes death.
