Elisabeth Hasselbeck Returns to The View

Elisabeth Hasselbeck will return to her duties as co-host of the ABC talk show ‘The View’ on January 7. The 30-year-old left the show on October 23 for maternity leave. She gave birth to a son, Taylor Thomas, on November 9. This is Hasselbeck’s second child with her husband, Arizona Cardinals player Tim Hasselbeck. She gave birth to their daughter, Grace, in 2005.

ABC says Hasslebeck’s first day back will feature a “Hot Topics” episode with a special guest who has yet to be announced. “She’s never been shy about expressing her view, so “Hot Topics” will be getting a whole lot hotter – especially with the upcoming presidential election,” ABC says.

This will be the first episode of The View that Hasselbeck will sit with the show’s new additions, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepard. The two were added to the show soon after Hasselbeck went on maternity leave. Goldberg replace Rosie O’Donnell, who had an on-screen feud with Hasselbeck and left before her contract was up last year.
