Julio Jones Commits to Alabama on National Signing Day

Julio Jones, the nation's top-ranked wide receiver prospect in the class of 2008, has committed to Alabama on National Signing Day Wednesday.
Jones, the No. 2 player in the nation according to ESPN.com, made his committment on ESPNU at 12:30pm EST. The Foley (AL) native will stay in-state, becoming the highest-touted player in the Nick Saban regime with the Crimson Tide.
"Alabama just felt like home," said Jones. "It's where I felt most comfortable."
Jones selected between Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma and Texas Tech.
Jones caught 68 passes for 1,181 yards and 16 TDs in 11 games this season. He also had 414 return yards. He was named to the first team of the USA Today All-USA High School Football Team.
Jones is the most coveted prospect to come out of the Mobile (AL) area since JaMarcus Russell left Williamson H.S. in 2003 for LSU. Russell went on to become the No. 1 pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.
Jones has been compared to such Michael Irvin and Larry Fitzgerald.
