and New Zeland, Woolworths Limited is a retail group.  The company operates 3,000 stores, 965 of
which are supermarkets using the Woolworths and Safeway brand names in Australia, and Woolworths Foodtown and Countdown
brand names in New Zealand.

The company’s liquor retailing services customer needs
through BWS, Dan Murphy and its Woolworths/Safeway liquor outlets.

The company is organized into five business segments,
Supermarket Group (retail liquor and petrol outlets), General Merchandise Group
(BIG W discount department stores), Consumer Electronics (Dick Smith
Electronics, Tandy and Dick Smith Electronics, Powerhouse stores), Hotels Group
(on premise liquor sales, food, accommodation, gaming and venue hire) and Wholesale
Group (Statewide Independent Wholesalers (SIW).
