Lauren Burk Murder May have Been Seen by Witnesses
Atlanta, Ga. 3/06/2008 07:13 PM GMT (FINDITT)
Police investigating the murder of 18-year-old Auburn University freshman Lauren Burk have said they have witnesses and are now aggressively pursuing the killer.
Burk was found Tuesday evening clinging to life after suffering a gunshot wound to the head. She was rushed to a local hospital but was declared dead later that evening. Police have not disclosed whether Burk was able to give them any information about the shooter.
On Thursday police began questioning several “persons of interest” while several of Burk’s friends mourned her death at a small memorial.
A $10,000 reward has been offered by the office of Alabama Gov. Bob Riley.
