Victor Ellis Dies at 28

Former University of Alabama linebacker Victor Ellis has died of cancer at the age of 28. Ellis had been battling medullary renal cell carcinoma, which is a rare form of cancer that started in his kidney and quickly spread to his lungs and heart. Only 50 cases of the cancer exist. Those diagnosed with the cancer are given three weeks to three months to live.
Ellis survived seven months with the cancer. He died Tuesday. Ellis began playing football for the Crimson Tide in 1998 and quit in 2001. He graduated in 2002 with a degree in communications. In 2006 he began recruiting students for University of Alabama.
