Ceradyne (Nasdaq: CRDN) Closed at $39.73. Today announced it has received a ceramic body armor delivery order for $31.5 million from the U.S. Army, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The order is for Enhanced Side Ballistic Inserts (ESBI), which will be delivered from September 2008 through November 2008. This new delivery order will be shipped against an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract announced in July 2006, which covers a five-year delivery period.

What They Do: Ceradyne develops, manufactures and markets advanced technical ceramic products and components for defense, industrial, automotive/diesel and commercial applications.

How They Trade: CRDN has a 52 week high of $84.21 and a 52 week low of $27.77. Volume averages approximately 797K shares a day.

Akorn-Strides today announced the approval of an ANDA for Flumazenil Injection USP, 0.1 mg/mL, packaged in 5 mL and 10 mL Multiple Dose Vials. Akorn-Strides, LLC is a Joint Venture that was formed in 2005 by Akorn (Nasdaq: AKRX) Closed at $4.21, and Strides Arcolab Limited. The primary mission for the Joint Venture is to develop liquid, lyophilized and dry powder formulations of generic injectable products targeting several therapeutic markets with a major focus on anti-infectives, analgesics and CNS medicines.

What They Do: Akorn manufactures and markets sterile specialty pharmaceuticals. Akorn has manufacturing facilities located in Decatur, Illinois and Somerset, New Jersey and markets and distributes an extensive line of hospital and ophthalmic pharmaceuticals.

How They Trade: AKRX has a 52 week high of $8.19 and a 52 week low of $4.10. Volume averages approximately 352K shares a day.

Cubic Corporation (AMEX: CUB) Today announced the U.S. Marine Corps has awarded its wholly owned subsidiary Cubic Appilications, a new and expanded training support contract with a potential value of $166 million over five years. Cubics employees, teammates, and leadership team continue to focus on the fact that their ultimate customer is the warfighter in the field. This new contract award allows Cubic to continue to deliver training that is both meaningful and relevant to the Marine Corps. To date, Cubic has executed over 6,000 training events over the course of the current contract.

What They Do: Cubic Applications, Inc. is part of the defense segment of Cubic Corporation, a world leader in realistic combat training systems, mission support services and defense electronics. The corporation's other major segment, Cubic Transportation Systems, designs and manufactures automatic fare collection systems for public mass transit authorities.


How They Trade: CUB has a 52 week high of $50.68 and a 52 week low of $23.01. Volume averages approximately 131K shares a day.

SI International (Nasdaq: SINT) Closed at $24.50. Today announced that the Company has been awarded a new prime contract with the Indian Health Service (HIS), an operating division (OPDIV) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). SI International will provide information technology services that support the implementation of the IHS IT Enterprise Life Cycle Project Management and Information Enterprise Architecture initiatives. The contract has a one year base period with two one-year option periods. The contract value is approximately $11 million, inclusive of all options.

What They Do: SI International, is a provider of information technology and network solutions (IT) primarily to the federal government. The Company combines technology and industry expertise to provide a full spectrum of state-of-the- practice solutions and services, from design and development to documentation and operations, to assist clients in achieving their missions. SI International is ranked as the 42nd largest Federal Prime IT Contractor by Washington Technology and has approximately 4,500 employees.

How They Trade: SINT has a 52 week high of $34.87 and a 52 week low of $18.85. Volume averages approximately 130K shares a day.
