Tropical Storm Arthur Kills 4 in Belize; Others Missing
Atlanta, GA 6/03/2008 06:14 PM GMT (FINDITT)
Four people drowned and others were missing in Belize Monday as remnants of twin tropical storms flooded much of Central America and southern Mexico.
Early Monday, flash flood waters claimed the life of one man trying to evacuate a neighborhood and swept away a home in southern Belize, killing three members of a family. A fourth family member is missing and presumed dead.
The flash flooding which swept through the tiny country were the remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur which pounded the coast on Saturday.
Arthur formed unexpectedly on the heels of Tropical Storm Alma and brought heavy rains and floodwaters that left many stranded on rooftops, and washed out a key bridge to the southernmost region of the country.
