US Olympic Basketball Team Defeats Australia, 87-76

The U.S. Olympic basketball team played through bad shooting to defeat Australia, 87-76, in an exhibition game on Tuesday.
Dwyane Wade scored 22 points and LeBron James had 16 for the USA team, who finished 3-of-18 from three-point range and 20-of-33 (61%) at the foul line. James scored eight consecutive points in the second quarter as the U.S. forced eight turnovers in the period.
The U.S. team led by only four points nearly halfway through the third quarter against the Australians, who rested their best player Andrew Bogut.
Kobe Bryant scored 13 points and Carmelo Anthony had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the United States, which faces host China on Sunday in its Olympic opener.
Once again, Bryant was their leader on defense. Bryant unveiled his new nickname "The Doberman" after the team's last game against Lithuania.
Patrick Mills and Chris Anstey each scored 13 points for Australia.
