Actor Shelley Malil Arrested for Stabbing Ex-Girlfriend

Actor Shelley Malil, who is known for playing an Indian in that film ’40 Year Old Virgin,’ has been arrested for stabbing his ex-girlfriend more than twenty times and then turning on her male companion. The alleged attacked happened around 9 p.m. Sunday at the woman’s San Marcos, California home.

Malil was arrested Monday at the Oceanside Amtrak Depot on charges of suspicion of murder, mayhem and burglary. He told authorities that he was on his way to meet with his lawyer in San Diego.

The woman, who has not been identified, is expected to survive despite suffering serious injuries. The condition of her male companion is not known.

Malil has made guest appearances on several TV shows including ‘NYPD Blue,’ ‘West Wing,’ ‘ER,’ and ‘Scrubs.’
