Despite his repeated apologies for his
interruption of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video at last
year’s VMA’s, Kanye West can’t seem to keep his mouthed closed about the
popular songstress.
West now says that Swift didn’t deserve to
win a Grammy. West also criticized three other Grammy-winning artists and
groups in a recent interview:
Where's our instant replay clock? Why are
the last four Albums of the Year: Taylor Swift, Dixie Chicks, Ray Charles and Herbie
Hancock? Like, you know, with all due respect...that's inaccurate."
The interviewer then asked the
controversial rapper who should have won the prizes then, and West responded:
"It's like 'SexyBack' - you know what I'm saying? Like [Justin Timberlake's]
'FutureSex/LoveSounds', Gnarls Barkley. How about Usher - 'Confessions'? How
about albums that sold 10 million?"
When asked why he attended such awards if
they were so repugnant to him, West replied: "Little kids, 6 years [old],
that are singing in front of the mirror. They're also thinking about their
Grammy speech; they're thinking about when there will be a VMA so these people,
whoever run them... they have to take some responsibility to say what really
happened in culture this year because we're marking it down."
West received stinging public backlash for
his stage-crash of Swift last year, and spent half the year apologizing on
Facebook and Twitter. Perhaps the addition of a diamond-encrusted tooth bridge
which he recently showed of on ‘Ellen’ makes him feel like what comes out of
his mouth is worth more now.
