Medtronic,
Inc. (NYSE:MDT)
dropped 1.67% to $34.12. The company’s
second-quarter net earnings slid to $566 million or $0.52 per share from $868
million or $0.78 per share in the prior year period. On average, 29 analysts
polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.81 for the quarter.
Analysts’ estimate typically excludes one-time items.


The company reported worldwide second-quarter revenue of
$3.90 billion compared with $3.84 billion reported in the second quarter of
fiscal 2010. Twenty-seven analysts estimated revenues of $3.90 billion for the
quarter. 


Campbell
Soup Company (NYSE:CPB)
is down 2.18% to $34.07 after the
Company reported its first quarter results. Earnings were 82 cents per share
and sales were $2.17 billion in first quarter.


So far in the last one year of trading sessions, the
stock lost over 1%. The stock has a 52-week range of $32.18-$37.59. 


Eaton
Vance Corp. (NYSE:EV)
lost 2.71% to $29.77. The company said that
its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings were $50.3 million, or 41 cents a share,
compared to $41.8 million, or 34 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Total
revenue was $303.6 million, up from $273 million.


Analysts surveyed by FactSet Research had expected, on
average, profit of 39 cents a share on revenue of $287.3 million.
