Joaquin Phoenix has announced that he is retiring from acting. The 34-year-old appeared at Monday’s Paul Newman tribute and told Extra that “this will be my last performance as an actor.” Phoenix says he will concentrate on his music.
“I want to take this opportunity…to give you the exclusive and just talk a little bit about the fact that this will be my last performance as an actor. I’m not doing films anymore,” he said. “I’m working on my music. I’m done. I’ve been through that.”
The two-time Oscar nominee didn’t give any more details about his retirement or music career.
Phoenix has starred in many films such as ‘We Own The Night,’ ‘Reservation Road’ and the upcoming romantic drama ‘Two Lovers.’
