Leading SSL VPN technology company Aventail has received certification by Kobil Systems, a German vendor of IT-security solutions. Aventail is the first Kobil partner to receive the "designed for mIDentity" certification for its products, a line of SSL VPN appliances for secure, remote access. The certificate guarantees interoperability of Aventail’s SSL VPN solution with Kobil mIDentity Basic, a smart-card based authentication system.
The combination of the Aventail SSL VPN and the Kobil mIDentity solution ensures a highly-secure connection to network resources for all remote users. Both solutions can be deployed completely clientless. Kobil mIDentity Basic contains a pre-configured Mozilla Firefox Internet browser, which sets up a highly secure, encrypted connection to the Aventail SSL VPN Web-based gateway, without any additional software installations.
Kobil Systems joins a growing base of global best-of-breed authentication technologies that interoperate with Aventail’s SSL VPN solution. Other authentication partners of Aventail include RSA Security, VeriSign, PassGo, Swivel, Thirdnetworks and Computer Systems Engineering (CSE).
