ANGEL Learning, a leading provider of enterprise eLearning software and services, today announced that North Shore Community College (NSCC) in Massachusetts has adopted the ANGEL Learning Management Suite (LMS) to support its online, blended, and classroom teaching. The college’s search for an LMS to replace the course management system it originally licensed focused on choosing a system that provided a high quality teaching and learning experience and a company committed to service excellence.

“Teaching and learning is our focus, and we needed an LMS that shares that emphasis,” said Julie Riley, instructional design specialist, North Shore Community College. Riley identified ANGEL’s “overall usability and ease of use” as one way NSCC’s ANGEL adoption provides a high quality teaching and learning experience. The ANGEL grade book and ANGEL reporting capabilities are also impacting the NSCC teaching and learning experience. “The ANGEL grade book is a big hit with our faculty. It’s flexible and easy to integrate assignments, and the ability ANGEL reports give faculty to see student activity in courses and automatically send email contributes to a positive student experience. Overall,” Riley continued, “ANGEL helps instructors manage their courses and automates course housekeeping creating more time for the faculty – student interactions critical to a high quality instructional experience.”

“ANGEL Learning appreciates and shares North Shore Community College’s emphasis on teaching and learning. Their selection of the ANGEL LMS is recognition of the effort we expend to create a superior instructional experience,” said Christopher Clapp, ANGEL Learning president and CEO. “ANGEL Learning is pleased to welcome NSCC to the ANGEL community. We look forward to partnering with the college to serve its quickly growing student population.”

One of the oldest and largest of Massachusetts’ fifteen community colleges, North Shore Community College serves cities and towns along the coastal region from north of Boston to Cape Ann. The college offers more than 90 Associate Degree and Credit Certificate programs, a full range of noncredit community education and workforce development courses from campus locations in Danvers, Lynn and Beverly, and more than 75 eLearning courses. NSCC two-year degree programs prepare students for careers or transfer to four-year colleges. One-year credit certificate programs provide basic skills needed for quick entry into the job market. Noncredit certificates are aligned with the business needs of the North Shore and lead to industry certification and licensure. NSCC students hail from all over the world as well as from the region’s cities and towns. More than 50 languages are spoken on NSCC campuses. NSCC’s record-breaking fall 2008 credit enrollment topped more than 6,600 students.
