Instead of plundering Johnny Depp opted to purchase; His very own island.

Depp bought the island getaway, located in the Bahamas, while he was filming the first of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean films. Now he is ready to move to the private nirvana with long time girlfriend Vanessa Paradis and their two children Lily Rose and Jack.

According to Depp, "We want to spend a lot more time there in the future because it's a completely different way of life. It will be our home base." The 43 year-old father has revealed his newest passion, "I love running around on the beach with the children, going swimming."

For an actor who has starred in Edward Scissorhands, Benny & Joon, and the record setting Pirate films, the move hardly seems surprising. Yet, Depp is not ready to drop anchor permanently. He was quoted as saying, "We will spend our time in France and in the US, so our children will grow up in both cultures."
