B.B. King Hospitalized, Misses Grand Opera House Performance

Recent recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer B.B. King was hospitalized on Thursday for undisclosed reasons. The legendary bluesman is expected to be released later today or Saturday.
The 81-year-old King has influenced scores of musicians over the years. Called the “King of the Blues,” he impacted the musical style of guitar greats Eric Clapton and the late Stevie Ray Vaughn.
In 2000, King released an album with Clapton titled “Riding with the King.”
King has a history of diabetes and has done several public service announcements surrounding the disease.
