Airline stocks climbs in Today’s morning session on the back of airline traffic reports that showed fuller planes and even some instances of growth.
UAL Corporation (NASDAQ:UAUA) climbs up over 3% to $6.82 on a volume of 3.14 shares after UAL and US Airways reported slower declines in October, and Alaska posted growth. US Airways said Wednesday its total October mainline traffic fell less than 1% from a year ago, versus a 1.6% year-over-year decline in September.
Continental Airlines, Inc. (NYSE:CAL) also jumps up 1.02% to $11.69 but is off days high of $12.11 on profit booking.
AMR Corporation (NYSE:AMR) surges over 2.01% to $5.40 on 4.22 million shares.
AMR Corporation (NYSE:AMR) soars 2.73% to $3.01 as US Airways on Wednesday reported a record October load factor of 82.6 percent, up 0.7 points from October 2008. Traffic was down 0.8 percent, capacity was down 1.6 percent.
