Jon and Kate Plus 8 Series Finale: Kate Regrets Split, Jon Continues Romance with Girlfriend

Jon and Kate Plus 8 came to an end last night with Kate Gosselin and Jon Gosselin opening up about their divorce. While Kate says she regrets the split, Jon insists the divorce must happen and he will continue his relationship with girlfriend Hailey Glassman.

“Don't kid yourself. When I'm driving to get school supplies with the kids or try on shoes . . . it always crosses my mind that I should be in the passenger seat and Jon should be driving. Every single time,” Kate said. “To clarify, maybe I wanted roles to change and for people to step up and stress loads to shift. [But] I never wanted him absent from that driver's seat.”

For his part, Jon says he is not dwelling on the past. “I’m moving forward, I know what I have to do. To become friends with Kate. To continue my relationship with Hailey,” he says.

Jon also reemphasized his desire for him and Kate to parent their 8 children together. “We’re gonna have to strive to be the best parents we can whether we’re married or not. We’re definitely not gonna be married again,” he said.

TLC recently announced Kate is getting her own show to air in spring 2010. Details on the new program were not released.
