Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre to Skip Mini-Camp
Monroe, Ga. 5/15/2007 08:21 PM GMT (FINDITT)
Brett Favre will reportedly miss the Green Bay Packers’ mini-camp this weekend as he continues to heal from off-season ankle surgery.
Favre made headlines this past week after it was reported that the 16-year veteran was so frustrated with his team’s inability to sign Randy Moss that he demanded to be traded. Favre has since said that he never demanded to be traded and wants to continue to lead the Green Bay Packers.
Missing the mandatory mini-camp has nothing to do with the Randy Moss situation according to Favre. ‘They were going to have me sit out anyway, to be honest, we have (daughter) Brittany graduating in two weeks. Instead of going up there and not doing anything, I will be better off being at home because of graduation parties and banquets.”
Since the failure to sign Moss rumors have circulated that the Packers may be interested in signing veteran Keyshawn Johnson who was released by the Carolina Panthers shortly after NFL Draft Day.
