Rapper 50 cent sued an internet advertising company on Friday after he claimed the used his image in a game where the player attempts to shoot him. The game is called “Shoot the Rapper” and shows 50 cent pacing back and forth as the person is trying to shoot him by clicking on him with their mouse.
When the player successfully shoots 50 cent, it sends them to the company’s page where the viewer can by goods and services. Although the ad doesn’t use 50 cents name, his lawyer says “it looks like him, and there’s no doubt the character is intended to be him.” He goes on to say that they used the image without the rappers consent and says, “For all those reasons, he is personally offended.”
The "Candy Shop" singer, who is victim of gun violence, is suing the company for $1 million.
