California Mansion Tippett Hall on the Market for Record $76 Million
Atlanta, Ga. 8/21/2007 02:17 PM GMT (FINDITT)
Its been seven years since Bill and Carol Stensrud bought the 1937 Colonial-style mansion known as Tippett Hall for a mere $25 million and now the couple are putting their 10,000 square foot oceanfront pad on the market for a cool $76 million, a record price for a residential listing in the exclusive Del Mar area of California.
Tippett Hall features nine bedrooms and 7 ½ bathrooms along with a guesthouse and a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean, what it doesn’t have is an inside. The Stensrud’s opted to gut the mansion in 2001 for reasons unknown and discarded leaded glass, chandeliers, inlaid floors and a long staircase.
While the mansion is on the market for $76 million the valuation of the property is significantly less. County officials have placed the properties value at $27.3 million.
