Angelina Jolie visits Iraq

Angelina Jolie flew to Iraq to witness the humanitarian crisis there. The actress visited the war ravaged country in order to draw attention to the condition of Iraqi refugees.
As the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) ambassador, Jolie spent hours talking to Iraqi refugees and visited the UNHCR registration center. She met to almost 1,200 refugees who where camped out on the border because they could not leave the country.
“I have come to Syria and Iraq to help draw attention to the humanitarian crisis and to urge governments to increase their support for UNHCR and its partners. My sole purpose in both countries is to highlight the plight of those uprooted by the war in Iraq,” Jolie said.
Before flying to Iraq, Jolie spent time in New York with her partner Brad Pitt and their four children.
