Sarah McLachlan Splits from Husband Ashwin Sood

Singer Sarah McLachlan is separating from her husband of 11 years, drummer Ashwin Sood. The 40-year-old confirmed the split to Billboard.com.

“I haven’t said anything about it because I’ve been terrified. But I figure…there’s no good time to say it, so I just said it,” McLachlan said.

She described the split as “pretty gross” but didn’t reveal any more details. McLachlan and Sood, who is the drummer in her band, have two children, daughters India and Taja.
