A QUICKIE, ANYONE?

Published

on

Towards the end of the final recording session for new hip hop single from NOSUGA- “Hot Girl Light Me Up” in collaboration with The American Cancer Society, Caron Wheeler of Soul II Soul, exclaimed rhythmically with a burst of accomplished energy and lighthearted jest “All I wanted was a quickie..!” Her expressive statement at the end of the single proved to be far more profound than we thought given the cause for which this single was recorded.

Producer/Mixer Christos Tsantilis (https://www.mixbystos.com), Caron Wheeler of Soul II Soul, Singers/Songwriters Katia Cadet, Brianna Rettig, Andrew Mockler, Motown Drummer Jon Ihle, Percussionist Chris TheBerge, New York City-based rapper, Zizzo, Mastering Engineer Leon Zervos, Co-Producers Hassan Gavin, Blair Wells, David Lloyd and many more amazing artists were motivated by the fact that there were an estimated 14.1 million cancer cases around the world in 2012 and this number is expected to increase to 24 million by 2035 according to The World Cancer Research Fund International. A disease that is physically and emotionally depleting as it infiltrates ones being and slowly chips away at one’s courage and power is a disease that needs our undivided attention. The juxtaposition of the slow suffering of this disease with the split second in time that we have in reality to promote such a meaningful cause through this single is an ironic one.

Currently, with over 5 million listens and views collectively we have gradually learned to maneuver the music industry that has found its mother ship online where talent is accepted or discarded in a flash as one merely clicks a button to decide the fate of an epidemic that is being battled worldwide and has taken millions of lives. In the culture of the here and now, we all want quick fixes and instant fame. Who wants to sit with the discomfort of the slow burn of reality? Our undying creative drive and need to be instantly gratified can seldom endure emotional complexity and hence, we click a button instead and hope that spreading our message with success will be a quickie!

The music industry having transitioned into a purely extrinsically motivated, cyber bound entity is both a disappointment and a challenge. We have a fraction of a moment to make our meaningful cause known through our art and music. On one hand, it may feel like a disillusionment that stifles an artist’s cosmically motivated creativity and on the other hand it is a vital opportunity to seize the day. Carpe Diem, dammit! New York City based rapper, Zizzo battled and survived Stage IV cancer and her story inspired the creatively ingenious Producer/Mixer Christos Tsantilis (P. Diddy, Mary J. Blige, Mobb Deep, Mos Def, Brandy, Big Pun, Queen Latifah, Patti LaBelle, Saigon) to conjure up music towards making a difference. NOSUGA represents a collaboration of artists, musicians, singers and producers who came together to create positive music and in this single, to bring awareness of cancer in partnership with the American Cancer Society at lightning speed.

This quickie of all quickies, has purpose. So, click away and don’t forget to share!

Boosie Badazz Sprinter Van Shot Up In Dallas

Recently a shooting took place in the parking lot of Bit T’s in Dallas Texas where Boosie Badazz’s sprinter van was reportedly located. Different accounts are coming to different conclusions – some are saying Boosie’s van was the specific target of the attack, while others swear that he was just in the area. When you want friends and foes alike to know you’re in the area, upgrade your shine with a fresh iced out piece from HipHopBling.com, the premier provider of high end hip hop jewelry online.

Thusfar there hasn’t been a confirmation one way or another from Boosie’s Team – No Jumper and Dirty Glove Bastard have claimed that Boosie was struck in the leg, however Boosie shared a commemoration of his birthday on Instagram, without any mention of the shooting.

It is actually Boosie’s birthday as well. Boosie was in Dallas for both his 38th birthday, and a candle lit vigil for his friend and collaborator MO3, whom was recently shot and killed. There’s currently an ongoing investigation, but not much has yet been found.

Lil Uzi Vert And Lil Xan Will Not Be Working With Each Other Anytime Soon

Published

on

By

This year has been a busy year for Vert, whom this year alone dropped two projects: Eternal Atake and Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World Pt. 2. Most people consider the latter a Plat version of EA, but Vert wasn’t stopped there. He hooked up with Future in the studio for Pluto x Baby Pluto, and it truly looks like all his hard work is paying off for him in a big way. If you’re looking for fresh new jewelry that will show up in a big way, head over to HipHopBling.com for your own custom jewelry

While fans have been eating his projects up, they’ve also been vocal about wanting him to return to his old sound. Lil Uzi Vert may be doing just that though – hitting up Twitter, Vert mentioned that he thinks it’s just about time to return to his mumbling ways. Lil Xan saw this and shot his shot, and mentioned that he’d be down to mumble alongside him.

Lil Uzi Vert let him down in possibly the kindest way possible – “I mumble alone,” he said, with a heartbreak emoji.

Some fans who saw the exchange were absolutely furious, convinced that Vert had just dissed their boy Xan. The exchange was quickly taken down from Twitter, but not before they had a chance to screenshot the entire thread.

While it’s clear that we’re not going to see any Xan and Vert collab anytime soon, at least we can look forward to a return to form for Lil Uzi Vert.

Future, 2 Chainz And Lil Uzi Vert Run “Fire Emoji” Playlist

Published

Sooner than later publications will begin to reveal their “Best Of’s” as 2020 draws to a close. This year has been tumulus, however many would argue that this year has forced artists to become more creative than ever before. This week alone has seen several high profile drops and it makes sense to add them to this week’s Fire Emoji playlist. If you’re looking for some fire jewelry, customize your own merch for this holiday season by heading over to HipHopBling.com

Both Future and Lil Uzi Vert have been hinting at a project together for a hot minute – this month they finally delivered the fire with Pluto x Baby Pluto. With 2 Chainz So Help Me God having just dropped, we’re finally able to listen to some of those bars – including “Feel A Way” with Kanye West and Brent Faiyaz.

With the prison drop of Kodak Black’s Bill Israel and the anticipated Rich the Kid and YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s collaboration, “Automatic” had to be added to the list. Peep it below for yourself and tell us what you think.
